Lydia Ko
With the way the world No.1 has been playing of late and given her status as defending champion, it’s hard not to go with Lydia Ko this week at the CME Group Tour Championship. Ko won this event in a three way playoff last year to capture both the title and the season long Race To the CME Globe. Searching for motivation won’t be a problem for Ko, who is in the hunt for Player of the Year, the Vare Trophy, and the money title.
Inbee Park
The one in the battle with Ko in those season ending awards is world No.2 Inbee Park, who made the final event of the season much more interesting with her win at last week’s Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Park leads Ko in scoring average, but trails her in the Race to the CME Globe, Player of The Year standing and is second to Ko on the money list.
Stacy Lewis
World No.3 Stacy Lewis has six runner-up finishes among her 13 top-10 finishes in 2015. This week is her last shot at picking up a win for 2015. She finished T-9 here last year.
So Yeon Ryu
With the longest active cut streak on the LPGA Tour, So Yeon Ryu’s consistency makes her one to watch this week in Naples. Ryu is coming off a fourth place finish last week at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational and looks to better her T-7 performance at the CME Group Tour Championship last year.
Suzann Pettersen
Coming off four consecutive top-10 finishes, Suzann Pettersen will be one to watch this week. She’s gone low in her final rounds in hopes of making up ground earlier in the week, and could likely make a late charge in Naples on Sunday.
Ryann O’Toole
As her work with new instructor Jorge Parada is beginning to take hold, Ryann O’Toole has posted two top-15 finishes in her last four starts. She is well rested following the Asia Swing after taking last week off.
Carlota Ciganda
With a final round 63 in Mexico, Carlota Ciganda vaulted up the leaderboard and into a runner-up finish at last week’s Lorena Ochoa Invitational. She also finished T-2 in this event last year after losing in a playoff to eventual champion Lydia Ko.
Michelle Wie
With fond memories of her T-5 finish here last year, Michelle Wie will hope to build on the progress she’s made of late, posting two top-14 finishes in her last three starts. Wie is well rested having skipped last week’s Lorena Ochoa Invitational.
Lexi Thompson
With five top-10’s in her last five starts, Lexi Thompson is in search of her third victory this week in Naples. Thompson stumbled last week in Mexico, posting four over-par rounds en route to a 28th place finish. She posted a T-20 in this event last year.
Shanshan Feng
Shanshan Feng hasn’t finished outside the top-14 since the RICOH Women’s British Open but is still in search of her first win of the season. Feng finished T-12 in this event last year.
