Stacy Lewis
Tied with Inbee Park for the second most top-10's this season, Stacy Lewis is one to watch this week at the TOTO JAPAN CLASSIC. Lewis notched her 13th top-10 of the season at last week’s Blue Bay LPGA, where she finished T-2. Still in search of her first win of 2015, Lewis could break through this week, having won this event in 2012.
Karrie Webb
The 2006 winner of the TOTO JAPAN CLASSIC, Karrie Webb is in the field again this year, having finished T-4 last year. This event is just the second of the Asia Swing in which Webb is playing, having played in the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia where she finished T-57.
Lexi Thompson
World No.4 Lexi Thompson makes her first start this week after winning the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship, the second event of the Asia Swing. The win marked the second of the season for Thompson, who also captured the Meijer LPGA Classic. Since then, Thompson has five top-10 finishes, including runner-up at the Evian Championship.
Paula Creamer
Coming off her third top-10 finish of the season, Paula Creamer tees it up this week for the first time in this event. Creamer finished T-6 in her last start at the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship and will be well rested after skipping last week’s Blue Bay LPGA.
Michelle Wie
Showing signs of returning to form, Michelle Wie has played each event of the Asia Swing. She finished T-14 in back to back weeks, bouncing back from rounds of 76 at the windy Blue Bay LPGA to finish the week in the top-15. Wie makes her first start in this event.
Jiyai Shin
A former star on the LPGA Tour, Jiyai Shin tees it up this week in an event she has won twice in 2008 and 2010. Shin consistently plays well in this event, never finishing outside the top-18 in her nine starts.
Ryann O’Toole
Despite dealing with a lost piece of luggage for most of last week’s Blue Bay LPGA, Ryann O’Toole finished T-14 for the week. With a T-12 performance at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia just three weeks prior, O’Toole is playing some of her best golf of the season. She last played in this event in 2011, finishing T-25
Catriona Matthew
Since 1996, Catriona Matthew has played in the TOTO JAPAN CLASSIC, her best finish coming in a T-4 in 2011. She has consistently played well in this event, posting five top-15’s over the years. Matthew is coming off a T-10 last week at Blue Bay LPGA.
Yani Tseng
Former World No.1 Yani Tseng is in search of her first win since 2012 and could get it done this week given her great play in this event. Tseng has three top-5 finishes at the TOTO JAPAN CLASSIC in 2009, 2010 and 2012. She is coming off a T-23 performance last week at Blue Bay LPGA.
Mirim Lee
The Asia Swing has brought out some good golf in Mirim Lee, who hasn't finished outside the top-22 in the four events, her best finish coming in a tie for ninth at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship. She finished T-18 in this event last year.
