Stacy Lewis currently holds the coveted No.3 spot in the Race to the CME Globe, but that could all change this week.

Thanks to her consistent play this season with 13 top-10 finishes including six runner-up’s, Lewis is currently in the top-3 in the Race to the CME Globe season long points race. Lydia Ko and Inbee Park lead Lewis in the standings, the trio earning the most points this season and in doing so control their destiny entering the CME Group Tour Championship. With a win at the season's final event, Lewis would also win the season long Race to the CME Globe and with it the $1 million dollar prize.

But her position is not entirely secure.

Because Lewis is not playing in this week’s Lorena Ochoa Invitational, Lewis leaves the door open for rookie Sei Young Kim to pass her in the standings. Having already clinched the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year award with her three wins this season, Kim is currently fourth in the Race to the CME Globe point standings at 3,167, only 343 points behind Lewis at 3,510. With a win this week in Mexico, Kim would lock up that No.3 position heading into the season’s final event, bumping Lewis to No.4. However, it is only with a win that Kim can pass Lewis and no other player besides Kim can mathematically move into the top three at this point in the season.
