Ha Na Jang has one goal for Sunday’s final round – 15 under. She figures if she gets to there, she’ll also seal the deal on her more coveted goal - a wire-to-wire victory at the Marathon Classic Presented by Owens Corning and O-I for her first career trip to the winner’s circle on the LPGA Tour.

“I think tomorrow my target is 15 under, so four more birdies!” Jang said.

She’ll be joined in the final group by a familiar face – Q Baek, who sits just one shot back of Jang and has been a friendly rival for the last 10 years up through junior golf and then on the KLPGA before both got their Tour cards this fall. And Baek’s proven she can win on the LPGA Tour after outlasting 2015’s first two major champions -Brittany Lincicome and In Gee Chun - last year in a playoff for a win at the LPGA KEB HanaBank Championship in her first ever LPGA start.

“I learned a lot from the playoff I played against Lincicome and Gee Chun last year. Also, Gee Chun won the tournament last week at U.S. Open,” Baek said. “I believe I haven’t made it to the next level yet, so hopefully this week gives me good confidence going into tomorrow. Hopefully I step up to the next level.”

To do so will require holding off a wave of challengers two shots back of Jang’s lead. Five, to be exact – Chella Choi, Austin Ernst, Lydia Ko, Inbee Park and Shanshan Feng.

Ko, the defending champion, shot a 4-under-par 67 Saturday to climb within two but left disappointed that she couldn’t close with a birdie on either of the last two finishes hole – both par-5s. Ko’s looking to defend at her second tournament of the year after going back-to-back at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in late April.

“I think I was a couple shots behind last year too so I don’t mind the position I’m in right now,” Ko said. “It’s great to return to a course where you’ve played well.”

Ko’s right. The position was nearly identical a year ago when she won here with a final round 65. She entered the final round at 9-under-par, two shots back of the lead. Sound familiar?

World No. 1 Inbee Park has never won here in Toledo, but she’s within striking distance to do so. She, like Ko, is two shots back and looking for her fourth win of the 2015 season.
