Foursomes matches, also known as alternate shot, features two players from Team U.S.A. going head to head with two members of Team Europe. Each team plays with just one ball, with players taking alternate shots hitting the ball until each team has holed out.

In the first match of the morning rookie Alison Lee paired with good friend Michelle Wie. Lee losing in her debut match 3&2 she looks to secure her first point in Solheim Cup competition with partner Michelle Wie. Lee can lean on experienced partner Wie to play golf against Melissa Reid and Carlota Ciganda. Wie boasts an impressive 3-1 record in foursomes. Expect both teams to use their length to generate plenty of birdie opportunities.

Best friends Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer will go head-to-head with a formidable European team Charley Hull and Suzann Pettersen the second foursome match of Day Two of the Solheim Cup. Pressel and Creamer have been paired together previously at the Solheim Cup and relish playing together and Pressel will likely give Captain’s pick Creamer a good boost of confidence in the opening match.

Charley Hull played in both matches yesterday and helped the European team secure two points.

Angela Stanford and Brittany Lincicome will head out in the third match of the morning wave against Catriona Matthew and Sandra Gal. Stanford and Lincicome are looking for their first point of the 2015 Solheim Cup. Matthew and Gal played their first foursomes match together yesterday securing a point for the European team.

For the Matthew and Gal pairing, Matthew’s the superior ball striker at 22nd on the Tour in greens in regulation while Gal’s the superior putter at ninth in putts per green in regulation.

Anna Nordqvist

Caroline Hedwall

In the final foursome of the morning Stacy Lewis and and Gerina Piller will be paired with Anna Nordqvist and Carolina Hedwall.

Nordqvist and Hedwall won their afternoon four-ball match, 4&3. Piller's putter was on fire in the conclusion of her four-ball match this morning, she and playing partner took it down to the wire to halve the hole.
