“We are excited that the five women’s major championships and the men’s four major championships are aligned in celebrating golf’s return to the Olympic Games by awarding Rio’s gold medalists the honor of exempt status into upcoming major championship fields.
Specific to the women’s majors, The Evian Championship, which takes place just one month after the Rio Olympics, will offer the gold medalist an exemption into its 2016 field. The ANA Inspiration, KPMG Women's PGA Championship, U.S. Women's Open, and RICOH Women's British Open will each offer an exemption to the Rio Olympic gold medalist in 2017.”
