Anne-Catherine Tanguay, the Quebec, Canada native will be making her first appearance in the Manulife LPGA Classic. Tanguay finished T36 at Final Stage to earn LPGA membership for the 2016 season and in nine starts she’s made four cuts in her rookie season. Here are five things to get to know her a little better.
- When Tanguay was ten years old, her mom introduced her and her two siblings to the game by taking them to a golf clinic. “She wanted us to learn so that when we were older and were business people we could go play in company outings,” explained Tanguay. “I’m very competitive, and golf just clicked when I was 13.”
- The best way for Tanguay to stay in shape when on the road is yoga and tennis, but also finds it important to maintain a healthy diet when traveling so you’ll find her at the local Panera Bread, Chipotle or just stocking the fridge in her hotel room with healthy choices.
- Tanguay’s favorite club in her bag is her driver because she says it’s her most accurate.
- Tanguay was a Epson Tour rookie in 2015 and played in 17 events and finished 37th on the Volvik Race for the Card money list.
- Tanguay played college golf at the University of Oklahoma where she finished her career with the second best scoring average in school history.
