LPGA Travels To Taiwan

The LPGA visits Miramar Golf Country Club in Taipei, Taiwan this week for the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship, the second tournament in a string of six consecutive events in Asia.

Defending champion and World No. 1 Lydia Ko and inaugural winner Yani Tseng (2011) will both return for the sixth playing of this event. Ko is seeking to become the second player to successfully defend a title in 2016 (Anna Nordqvist, ShopRite LPGA Classic) and would reach 15 career victories with a win this week.

Ko became the youngest player in history to reach 10 wins on the LPGA Tour (18 years, 6 months, 1 day) and scored the largest margin of victory of the season with her nine-shot victory at Miramar last year. The field features 81 players including 15 from the TLPGA. Players will tee off of both Holes 1 and 10 throughout the week without any cuts.

This will be the third year this tournament is hosted by Miramar Golf Country Club after spending its first three years at Sunrise Golf & Country Club.
