During the week of the 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational, LPGA Tour rookie Gaby Lopez shares her experience of returning home to Mexico for this week's event. She will be blogging until the start of the tournament.
Well, coming back home is always great. I love spending time with my family and friends. It kinda takes away the feeling of "Gaby the golfer" and brings up the feeling of Me, just Gaby.
I just love playing in my hometown at my home course, Club de Golf Mexico. People are very nice, so welcoming. Talking to different players all I hear is "is everyone this nice in Mexico?", the answer is YES. Most people will look at you with a smile, always asking if he or she can help you with anything.
What can I say about the food? Wow. This is one of the things that I miss the most when I am on tour. Nothing beats some "guac" with chips and good "tacos al pastor" (pork tacos). I bet everyone is very happy with the food and service here!
I'll keep you updated :) don't miss out!
Gaby
