Sandra Gal hosted the inaugural Sandra Gal Charity Challenge Pro-Am on November 21st at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla., and raised over $40,000 in the first year. The event was established to help raise funds for an organization called “Volunteers of America” that has served the communities since 1896 by supporting the most vulnerable people of America such as homeless individuals and families, veterans, underprivileged youth, people with disabilities and those recovering from addictions.
“I have had the privilege of being brought up by two loving parents, who have always helped me to realize my dreams,” said Gal. “That is why I would like to support these people and encourage them to follow their dreams.”
On hand at the inaugural event were several of Gal’s friends and fellow competitors; Brittany Lincicome, Cheyenne Woods, Morgan Pressel, Vicky Hurst, Jaye Marie Green, Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn, Jacqui Concolino, Shasta Averyhardt, Pernilla Lindberg, Caroline Masson, Len Mattiace, Jerry Foltz, Elena Robles, Brooke Henderson, Carmen Bandea, Dewald Gouws, Andy Bean.
The money raised this year will go to a fund that will help build a playground at the Volunteers of America of Florida’s new program, Kaylee Bay Veteran’s Village. The playground will be available to children and families within the Village as well as local children and families in the East Tampa area, many of which are low income. The program and playground will provide the children and families a safe and clean area to play, learn, grow and live thanks to the support of everyone involved in the event.
“The Sandra Gal Charity Challenge benefitting Volunteers of America was a first-class event,” said Gal. “I was so grateful to receive positive feedback on a great day of golf and giving back to help underprivileged kids. I was very impressed with the organization and the hospitality of the beautiful Concession Golf Club. I can't wait to grow this event in the upcoming years”
