Napa Valley, CA (July 13, 2016) – Cristie Kerr Wines has launched its second wine project, Kerr Cellars, founded by champion golfer Cristie Kerr. Kerr Cellars features wines produced from the selective, exceptionally-farmed vineyards in Napa and Sonoma, California. These limited, micro-production wines are meticulously handcrafted from vineyard to bottle by talented winemaker Helen Keplinger.
“It is a privilege to be able to share these exceptionally fine wines, which began production in 2013, with the public,” said Kerr. “Much like golf, it takes a lot of time and patience to be in the wine business, and I have enjoyed crafting these wines with my friend Helen Keplinger. She is an incredible talent.”
Helen Keplinger, who was on the cover of the Wine Spectator in July of 2014 and voted 2012 Winemaker of the Year by Food and Wine magazine, has been Kerr Cellars’ winemaker from the inaugural 2013 vintage.
“I love working with Cristie on this project – she has incredible drive and a terrific palate,” said Keplinger. “We have a shared philosophy that wines should have their own unique identity, which these stunning wines certainly do.”
Kerr Cellars joins Curvature Wines in Cristie Kerr Wines’ boutique brand portfolio. Served in some of the finest restaurants and country clubs, and even the White House, Curvature Wines’ Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are made by Pride Mountain Vineyard’s renowned winemaker Sally Johnson. This strong introduction into the wine industry has built Cristie Kerr’s reputation of knowing her way around the vineyard and blending table.
Kerr Cellars will offer three small-production wines, which can be purchased directly from the winery at www.kerrcellars.com: 2013 Napa Valley Reserve Red, 2013 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and 2013 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
