The German native, Caroline Masson, became sixth Rolex First-Time Winner of the 2016 season and had the Rolex Rankings Move of the Week moving up 42 spots to No. 45 with her outstanding play at the Manulife LPGA Classic. Masson started the final round three shots off the lead and fired a final round six-under par 66 to defeat Karine Icher, Minjee Lee and Mi Hyang Lee by one stroke.
“It's hard to believe. I mean it really is. Obviously, I was in a good position coming into today, and I was thinking, well, if I can shoot a really good round, I might have a chance, but I was totally not expecting it,” explained Masson.
Other Notable Moves:
- Karine Icher moved up 20 spots to No. 46 with her T-2 finish in Canada
- Nontaya Srisawang moved up 25 spots to No. 124 with her T-8 finish.
- Nelly Korda, a rookie on the Epson Tour, moved up 110 spots to move inside the top 400 in the Women’s World Golf Rankings after winning the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge.
