Japan has a lot to celebrate this week.
Sunday, Japanese phenom Nasa Hataoka not only took medalist honors at the final stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament, but the best of the Japan LPGA also won this year’s team competition, The Queens presented by Kowa. Staged in their home country at Miyoshi Country Club, Japan defeated the KLPGA for their second victory in three years. The annual event pits members of the JLPGA against members of the KLPGA, ALPG and LET, with members of the LPGA representing other tours in which they also have membership.
The LPGA’s Olafia Kristinsdottir, Mel Reid, Holly Clyburn and Lee-Anne Pace represented the LET, while Karrie Webb, Sarah Jane Smith, Sarah Kemp and Katherine Kirk competed on behalf of the ALPG.
The JLPGA defeated the KLPGA 7-1 in the final foursome matches. The ALPG defeated the LET 5-3 to secure third place.
