Qualifying for the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open began last week at locations across the country and around the world. Members of the LPGA Tour who have not yet qualified for the season’s third major began teeing it up in hopes of earning one of just a few coveted spots in the field. Last week, rookie Laura Gonzalez Escallon earned one of two spots in the field at Butler Country Club in Pennsylvania. Tuesday, Cheyenne Woods and Brianna Do both earned their way via the Industry Hills Golf Club qualifying site in Industry, California. Rookie Angel Yin came up two strokes short at the same site. Wednesday, Belen Mozo earned one of two spots at the Legends Club in Minnesota.
Qualifying continues until June 12, 2017. The U.S. Women’s Open is July 13 – 16.
