It may be the off-season, but it’s been a busy few weeks for Brooke Henderson.

The three-time LPGA winner and major champion is teeing it up at this week’s Diamond Resorts Invitational in Orlando alongside fellow LPGA professionals Brittany Lang, Brittany Lincicome and Lexi Thompson. The event marks the third charity event she’s played in the past two weeks. Henderson joined Lincicome at her event in St. Petersburg to benefit the First Tee of St. Pete and played in Morgan Pressel’s Morgan & Friends Tournament on Monday in Boca Raton. But this was an event Henderson did not want to miss.

“I think it’s a great tournament, and it’s benefitting Florida Hospital for Children, which is really important to me,” Henderson said. “So to be a part of it, it’s an honor.”

Wednesday at Four Seasons Resorts Orlando, Henderson addressed the media alongside two other members of the celebrity field – actor Jack Wagner and two-time MLB All-Star Mark Mulder. Both were on Henderson’s list of celebrities to meet this week at Tranquilo Golf Club.

“It’s really exciting to meet actors like Jack and get to meet awesome athletes and people that are always around sports,” said Henderson. “It’s kind of eye-opening for me to see the different talent and how they go from their careers and go to golf, which is secondary to them. But they’re really, really good.”

Henderson is one of more than 80 athletes and celebrities competing in the second edition of the Diamond Resorts Invitational. Although the 54-hole event is for charity, Henderson says having fun isn’t her only goal this weekend.

“It’s a little bit different atmosphere with celebrities and the Champions Tour pros that I don’t see every day. So I’m definitely going to have fun with it, but at the end of the day, every competition– and these guys will agree to that – you’re always trying to be number one and be the best that you can be, and hopefully that means the top of the leaderboard.”

Henderson tees off Friday at 10:54 a.m. alongside Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson and NHL All-Star Mike Modano.
