In what has been the longest match of the week, No. 2 seed Shanshan Feng outlasted No. 10 Sarah Jane Smith in 24 holes to advanced to the Round of 16. Saturday morning, Feng squares off with No. 3 seed Brooke Henderson, who pulled out a 2 & 1 victory over Ryann O’Toole on Friday. Henderson made birdie on four of her last six holes to come from 1 Down and win the match. Henderson and Feng tee off at 7:40 a.m. local time.

9 Michelle Wie vs. 12 Marina Alex
Michelle Wie faces friend Marina Alex during Saturday’s Round of 16. Wie defeated 2017 rookie Laura Gonzalez Escallon 3 & 2 to advance to Saturday. Alex, a 12 seed in the Juli Inkster bracket, pulled off one of the biggest upsets on Friday by defeating Jessica Korda 5 & 4. Wie and Alex are excited and eager for the match up – Wie joked after the round that the pair had already been texting about their Saturday match. The comfort of playing alongside a friend could make for a lot of birdies in this match on Saturday. The pair tees off at 8:30 a.m. local time.
Se Ri Pak Bracket
2 Sei Young Kim vs. 3 Charley Hull
In a rematch from the 2016 UL International Crown, No. 2 seed Sei Young Kim faces No. 3 seed Charley Hull in the Se Ri Pak bracket. Kim defeated two-time U.S. Women’s Amateur champion Danielle Kang 3 & 2 to advance to the Round of 16. Hull, who played through illness Thursday, was feeling much better on Friday and defeated Pornanong Phatlum to advance to Saturday.
Kim and Hull met in the singles matches at the last playing of the UL International Crown. Kim defeated Hull 5 & 4, which Hull has not yet forgotten and told the media after her round Friday in Mexico that she is looking forward to getting one back this time around. The pair tees off at 8:40 a.m. local time.
