Sunday, the Ladies European Tour’s Cassandra Kirkland lost her two-year battle with lung cancer.
In September 2016 while undergoing treatment, Kirkland was on-site at the Evian Championship to promote the sale of her self-designed t-shirts to raise money to fight cancer. At the time, Kirkland was awaiting word on whether her most recent round of treatment had been effective. Last fall, LPGA.com wrote a story about her battle with lung cancer and how she was working to maintain a positive outlook on life.
Kirkland was 32-years-old.
