On Monday in Williamsburg, Virginia, LPGA.com's Bret Lasky had dinner with rookie Emma Talley for the first installment of "Lunch (or Dinner) with Lasky". They visited Berret's Seaford Restaurant & Taphouse Grill, a location that's been around since the 1920's.
Dinner started with raw oysters and tuna for appetizers and then for the main course Talley had the Red Snapper while Lasky had Salmon. For dessert, they feasted on the delicious Strawberry Shortcake and the Ultimate Brownie.
The topics were endless. In the beginning of the interview over food, they discussed eating while traveling on the LPGA and the bond she has with her mother, Jennifer. When the main course arrived, the conversation shifted to her friendship with Justin Thomas and qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open, which will be played at her home course in Shoal Creek, Alabama. As dinner wrapped up, topics included her grade for her early season, Stacy Lewis being a mentor and more. When dessert arrived, Talley told an interesting story about the journal she keeps and updates every night before bed.
Other topics in the full version include her celebrity crushes, her fashion style, her favorite books and movies and what she talks about on the golf course with her caddie. The full version - which is over an hour of fun conversation - is available now on the LPGA's YouTube page. You can watch the full version by clicking here.
The LPGA.com team would like to extend a big thank you to our waitress, Becca, and one of the managers, Mike, for taking such great care of us during our visit to Berret's Seaford Restaurant. If you're ever in Williamsburg, it's worth a visit!
