Cristie Kerr is in position for her best finish of the 2018 season after a 6-under, 66 on Friday to get to 8-under at the Meijer LPGA Classic. She is in a tie for 12th and five shots off the lead.
After her round, Kerr credited improving her posture, which was "way too bent over" as a key to the success.
"I was almost too athletic, but like I went the other way with it," explained Kerr. "I'm just trying to set up more balanced and get the club a little bit more in front going away and that's allowed me to hit it more solid and straighter."
The results are obvious. She has yet to make a bogey through 36 holes and has hit 30 of 36 greens in regulation.
"I've just been kind of working on my golf swing and that's gotten better, and my mental approach, trying to not let things bother me has gotten better this week."
The 20-time winner has had a strange 2018 season. She has just one top 10 finish and has placed outside the top 25 at both majors.
With improved posture and a better outlook on the course, this could be Kerr's weekend to shine.
