Galloway, NJ (May 30, 2018) – Leona and Lisa Maguire – twin sisters who are extremely accomplished Irish golfers – are leaving the amateur ranks and will compete in their first LPGA event as professionals at the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer held June 4–10, 2018.

“We are extremely proud to offer Leona and Lisa their first starts as LPGA professionals,” said Tim Erensen, Executive Director of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer. “The golf world has eagerly anticipated their professional debut for a number of years and we’re excited that they will launch their careers in front of the tremendous golf fans of South Jersey.”

Leona Maguire is a two-time National Player of the Year and three-time ACC champion for Duke University. Earlier this year she broke Lydia Ko's record for the most weeks (131) at the top of the World Amateur rankings. She is also a three-time participant in the Curtis Cup and twice earned her LPGA card through Q School, but decided to return to college each time.

“I’m so delighted to make my professional debut at the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer,” said Leona Maguire. “This is a tournament I’ve heard so many great things about from other players and it will be honor to make my professional debut at such a great event.”

Lisa Maguire has been ranked as high as 35th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and is a winner of the Great Britain and Ireland Women’s Order of Merit. She is a two-time member of the European Junior Solheim Cup team, played on the Curtis Cup squad in 2010, and was the 2011 European Ladies Amateur and Spanish Ladies Amateur champion.
