Sei Young Kim has been incredible this week at Thornberry Creek. She threw up a 64 on Saturday, which wasn't even her best round of the week, to get to 24-under at the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic. She has already matched Annika Sorenstam's 54-hole scoring record and it appears a foregone conclusion that she will break the 72-hole scoring mark, which she owns along with Sorenstam.

Kim posted a four-day score of 27-under at the 2016 JTBC Founders Cup.

"I just want to keep challenge (to see) what I can do," said Kim after her Saturday round. "Yeah, if I break out I keep challenge to go higher (for) the record. That's my goal."

Sorenstam previously owned the only 27-under from her 2001 victory at the Standard Register Ping in Phoenix. It was the same tournament she also posted a 59 in round two. For comparison sake, Kim handed in a 65 in round two at Thornberry Creek.

The major difference on Sunday for Sei Young is that she won't have anyone in hot pursuit like Annika did in 2001. Se Ri Park was on Sorenstam's heels in the final round, but she held her off by two shots. Kim will have an eight shot lead. When Kim carded a 27-under at the Founders Cup, she shot a final round 10-under.

Sorenstam broke Karrie Webb's scoring record of 26-under from the 1999 Australian Ladies Masters.

Kim has a great chance to get to 30-under based on her first three rounds. No player in LPGA history has ever done that. The last PGA TOUR pro to get to 30-under was Jordan Spieth in 2016 to win the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
