Stacy Lewis is the latest player on the LPGA Tour to announce she’s pregnant with her first child. Lewis and her husband, Gerrod, tell Golfweek that the newest addition to their family is due Nov. 3.
"We're obviously really excited," Lewis said Thursday. "It was nice that I was home when I found out with him and we're just really excited to start a family."
Lewis plans to play through the Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning and O-I in July before calling it quits for the remainder of 2018. She plans to return to the Tour following the birth of the couple’s child.
"I plan on playing, I plan on coming back and traveling on the road with the baby and we'll figure it out as we go."
Also currently pregnant and expecting her first child any day now is Lewis’ Solheim Cup teammate Gerina Piller. Her husband, Martin, withdrew from this week’s Zurich Classic on the PGA Tour. Gerina is due May 3. Brooke Pancake and Suzann Pettersen are also currently away from the Tour as they are each pregnant with their first child.
"It's going to be fun raising a kid together and hopefully they're best friends and they hang out," Lewis said about Piller. "Just excited about the next few months and what it's going to bring."
