Lopez Wins in China
Gaby Lopez became the tenth Rolex First Time Winner on the LPGA Tour this season with her win at the Blue Bay LPGA on Sunday.
But, it wasn't easy for Lopez. On the final day, she posted a final round 1-over par, 73 to win by one stroke ahead of her playing partner, Ariya Jutanugarn, who also posted a final round 73.
Despite bogeys on her final two holes at the Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Club, Lopez held off world No. 1, Jutanugarn, and a charging Celine Boutier who posted a final round 66 to finish two shots off the lead.
Lopez became the first from Mexico to win on Tour since Lorena Ochoa and admitted after her win that she’s a professional golfer because of Ochoa.
“I mean, she’s been my inspiration my entire life,” Lopez said about the Hall of Famer.
Another Top 10 Finish for Jutanugarn
Ariya Jutanugarn posted a final round 73 to finish runner-up at the Blue Bay LPGA for her 16th top 10 of the year and third runner-up finish. World No. 1 Jutanugarn clinched the inaugural LEADERS Top 10 competition, and a $100,000 bonus, after recording the most top-10 finishes in a season on the LPGA Tour.

Lopez Makes Ace on Birthday
