In recognition of her victory at the 2018 ANA Inspiration, Pernilla Lindberg is raking in the honors in her home country of Sweden.
Lindberg was named Golfer of the Year by Swedish Golf magazine. She joins Anna Nordqvist and Annika Sorenstam as previous recipients of the award.
Lindberg was selected by a panel of judges, which is made up of members of the Swedish Golf Writers Association, the Swedish Golf Federation and PGA of Sweden. Judges awarded points to players and Lindberg topped the list with a total of 211 points, 48 points ahead of Alex Noren. Alexander Bjork received 84 points, followed by Jenny Haglund with 63 points and Henrik Stenson with 59 points.
Lindberg is also nominated for Achievement of the Year at the Swedish Sports Award Show. Lindberg’s fellow nominees include pole vaulter Armand Duplantis, skier Andre Myhrer and biathlete Hanna Oberg.
The award will be announced on January 21st in Stockholm. Lindberg plans to fly immediately from the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions in Florida, which wraps up on January 20th, to Sweden in order to walk the red carpet with her fiancé Daniel Taylor and attend the show.
