It was 112 starts between Mi Jung Hur’s victory at the 2014 Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic and the recent win at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open. Hur started the final day in North Berwick, Scotland one-stroke back and in an excellent position to make a charge on Sunday.
At the turn, four players were tied for the lead, but it was Hur that took control on the back nine with six birdies to set the 72-hole tournament record at 20-under par and take a four-shot victory over Moriya Jutanugarn and Jeongeun Lee6.
“My goal for the day was to enjoy my golf and just stay dry from the rain and just keep focused on my game,” Hur said after rain-soaked The Renaissance Club most of the day Sunday.
Hur shared with LPGA.com that she recently started carrying a butterfly-shaped keychain in her bag that she had received a few weeks back from a young fan. She also shared she increases her ball number each round, with round one using only the number five ball and the last only the number eight. The butterfly keychain and number eight ball both proved to be lucky for Hur in Scotland.
Here is a complete list of the clubs Hur was using when she won the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open.
