Jessica Korda and Cristie Kerr took part in the Els for Autism Pro-Am this past Monday, featuring past and current PGA and LPGA Tour players.
Ernie Els launched the Pro-Am 11 years ago, concurrently with creating the Els for Autism foundation. His son, Ben, is autistic, along with one in 59 children in the United States who get diagnosed with autism each year.
Korda’s team won the event that raised $915,000 for the foundation’s programs. Els for Autism has a campus in Jupiter, Florida, where it provides on-site education for students ages three through 21.
Korda is returning to the fold in her first event of the season at the Founder’s Cup this week. She withdrew from defending her title at the Honda LPGA Thailand due to a forearm injury. Kerr is also teeing it up in Phoenix, her fourth event of the season.
This. Was. So. Much. Fun. !!!! Thank you @TheBig_Easy and @ElsForAutism for inviting me to play and help raise awareness and money for such an important cause π https://t.co/M27E2UdlXr
