The defending champion of the Honda LPGA Thailand will not be in the field this week, as she’s battling a forearm injury, per her twitter statement.
She posted that “Unfortunately, my recovery from my forearm injury has taken longer than we expected.”
Korda has been dealing with multiple injuries the past few seasons. She injured her wrist in 2017, resulting in her withdrawing from the Ricoh Women’s British Open and going on to miss the Solheim Cup due to a forearm injury. She returned to action a month later at The Evian Championship.
The 8-year LPGA veteran faced reconstructive jaw surgery in December 2017, leading her to miss the first two events of the 2018 season. Her first event back, she won the Honda LPGA Thailand, setting a tournament record of -25.
The 2018 Heather Farr Perseverance Award winner currently sits in 4th place in the Solheim Cup standings, 63 points ahead of currently in 8th place Cristie Kerr and Austin Ernst.
Korda hasn’t had a season of full health since 2016. She notes she aims to begin her season in March at the Bank of Hope Founders Cup in Arizona.
