In the most difficult conditions so far in this Solheim Cup, with cold winds gusting upwards of 30 mph, the European and Americans halved the morning foursomes session with two wins apiece, setting up high expectations for the Saturday afternoon four-balls, the final partners session before Sunday singles.

Captain Catriona Matthew went back to her exceptional four-ball pairing from Friday by putting Pettersen and van Dam together, while Inkster experimented with yet another pairing, sending out two rookies in Altomare, who pulled out a crucial half point Friday afternoon with Nelly Korda, and Park, who is making her four-ball debut.

Neither Shadoff nor Masson have a point yet for Europe while Thompson made the long birdie putt at 18 on Friday afternoon to secure a half point in a crucial four-ball match. Alex was part of the biggest comeback of the matches so far, pairing with Morgan Pressel in Saturday morning’s foursomes to rally from 4 down to win 2 up.
Georgia Hall / Celine Boutier – Ally McDonald / Angel Yin
This is the matchup of the Solheim Cup thus far, with Hall and Boutier, undefeated in foursomes, taking on McDonald and Yin, who set a record for the largest margin of victory by a visiting team in Solheim history on Friday with a 7-and-5 win over Anna Nordqvist and Caroline Hedwall.
