Sei Young Kim’s golf dream is not an unheard of one. She hopes to add a major to her career ledger before she hangs up the clubs.

“If I win, it’s dream come true. That’s what I play for,” Kim told LPGA.com.

The difference for Kim is she has the most active wins on the LPGA Tour without a major victory. The 26-year-old has nine career wins to her name, including two this season.

Should Kim break through to the major winner’s circle, her past performance shows it will likely be at the Evian Championship. She sits at (-6) through the opening 36 holes. Kim has finished in the top 11 in all four career appearances, including a second-place finish last year.

The reason why she’s so consistent at the course is over 5,500 miles away.

“This golf course is very familiar because it’s very similar as my country golf course. When I play here, I feel like I play like my country.”

Her home course is Treasure Island Golf Club in South Korea. The course features plenty of hills, a prominent feature at the Evian Resort Golf Club.

Because of that comfort, she has additional confidence attacking the par 5s here. She is four under on them through the opening 36 holes.

Kim’s consistently found the top 10 in her career, major or not. In 25 major starts, she has finished in the top 10 32% of the time. She has at least one top ten at all five majors on the tour.

For her 101 non-major starts, she’s finished in the top 10 35% of the time.

She attributes her consistency to her approach.

“I just try my best and just want to reach what I want to do. I don’t want to put any extra pressure, just play like regular tournament. That make me relax and feel comfortable.”

When asked if she feels any extra pressure to win a major in her career, Kim maintains perspective.

“It’s coming. I just recognize it’s coming.”
