The Volvik Race for the Card welcomes a fresh top-10 following the 12th tournament of the 2019 Epson Tour campaign, with a couple moves up the big board and most recent “Road to the LPGA” champion jumping into the mix.
Jillian Hollis (Rocky River, Ohio) continues to lead the pack thanks to a tied for fourth finish at the Island Resort Championship, which increased season earnings to $92,699. Right behind the University of Georgia alumna is Perrine Delacour (Paris, France) with $78,128.
Continuing down the rankings, Leona Maguire (County Cavan, Ireland) did not make the trip to the Upper Peninsula and drops to No. 3. She trails Delacour by just $2,472. Meanwhile, Julieta Granada (Asuncion, Paraguay) and Nuria Iturrioz (Mallorca, Spain) maintain their positions. They’ve made $61,473 and $56,402 this year, respectively.
Leading the second half of the top-10 is Maddie Szeryk (London, Ontario, Canada) having earned $49,579 across 11 starts. Only $3,311 behind the Texas A&M University graduate at No. 7 is Cydney Clanton (Concord, North Carolina), one of six champions from 2019 in the group.
“It’s a big positive to keep climbing in the Volvik Race for the Card,” said Szeryk, who went tied for fourth last week and has three top-five finishes in her last four starts. “Even though it’s my rookie year, I get more comfortable every time I step on the course. My game is feeling really good and I can’t wait to keep competing.”
Rounding out the group is newcomer and Island Resort Championship champion Daniela Iacobelli (Melbourne, Florida). The victory and $30,000 winner’s check launched her 29 places into the No. 8 slot at $45,388. Furthermore, Kyung Kim (Chandler, Arizona) and Min Seo Kwak (Seoul, Republic of Korea) sit with $43,494 and $42,311, respectively.
“Always fun to have the orange [caddy] bib back,” Iacobelli said after capturing her third career Epson Tour title. “Halfway through the season means a lot of golf and travel left. Based off past years, one week can change your life and I have 11 more chances.”
At the end of the season, the top-10 players in the Volvik Race for the Card standings will graduate onto the LPGA Tour for the 2020 season.
