Jessica Korda started the 2018 season with few expectations. She knew the challenges ahead as she began her eighth season on the LPGA Tour at the 2018 Honda LPGA Thailand. But those challenges couldn’t be more difficult or agonizing than the jaw surgery Korda underwent in December 2017 to correct a severe overbite and excruciating headaches.
With 27 screws holding her face together, Korda delivered an incredible performance through physical and mental anguish as she captured her fifth career LPGA Tour title, leading wire-to-wire victory. It was her first since 2015. Her 25-under 263 set the 72-hole scoring record, with her second-round 62 the lowest 18-hole round in tournament history.
This Tuesday, May 12, golf fans can catch a Final Round Replay of Korda’s victory at 7 p.m. EST on the LPGA Facebook, a win that Korda described as extremely special.
“All this stuff is just still really hard, but I’m really, really happy that I chose to come back in this event, exactly where I started my rookie year in 2011,” said Korda after the victory. “I don’t think I could have asked for a better win.”
Homeland favorite Moriya Jutanugarn and Lexi Thompson each birdied the final hole to finish in a tie for second at 21-under.

Korda went on to earn the Heather Farr Perseverance Award at the 2018 LPGA Rolex Awards, with her Honda LPGA Thailand win as an example of her determination through a difficult recovery.
