SHIBUNO CONTINUES TOUR ACROSS UNITED STATES WITH EAST COAST STOP
The tour across the United States continues for 2019 AIG Women’s Open champion Hinako Shibuno, as she preps for her third start in as many LPGA Tour events since making her debut on American soil at the ANA Inspiration earlier this month.
She finished tied for 51st at the second major of 2020 in Rancho Mirage, Calif., then concluded the West Coast swing with a tied for 24th performance at the Cambia Portland Classic. Shibuno will now make her ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer debut, teeing off No. 10 tomorrow at 1:17 p.m. with playing partners Charley Hull and Maria Fassi.
“I am very excited to be a part of the ShopRite LPGA Classic this week. I appreciate the sponsors for the invitation,” said Shibuno, who is also in the field for the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship next week. “This is definitely one of the most known LPGA tournaments for people in Japan. I’ve heard that the course is very similar to courses in Japan, and I thought so from playing 36 holes last couple of days. It will be great preparation for the major championship coming up.”
