In the latest LPGA Twitter Q&A, University of New Mexico alumna Jodi Ewart Shadoff talked about the upcoming LPGA return to play, her Solheim Cup experiences as a three-time member of Team Europe and answered several questions from fans, among other topics.
— LPGA (@LPGA) July 22, 2020“I miss traveling, and know that it is going to be way different right now. I miss all my golf friends out there and being in a competitive setting,” said Ewart Shadoff. “When we first went into lockdown, you realize how much you miss it when it’s not there and you can’t do it. I just am really grateful to be able to go back and play again.”
A three-time Solheim Cup Team Europe and two-time UL International Crown Team England participant, Ewart Shadoff has made the cut in 82 percent of her LPGA Tour events played since her rookie year of 2011. That includes a total of 21 top-10 finishes.
She discussed how making Team Europe for the Solheim Cup is always at the top of her goals.
“I’ll never forget the memory as long as I live and remember it like it was yesterday,” said Ewart Shadoff, recalling the 2019 Solheim Cup win for Team Europe. “It was also the first time I played in front of a home crowd, just to have that home feeling and everyone is rooting for you. I love being part of a team and playing for your country. You have to show up for your teammates.”
