Amy Yang made her third-career ace on the LPGA Tour and first since 2010 with a hole-in-one on No. 12 at the LOTTE Championship. Yang holed out 143 yards away from the tee with her 9-iron, the only ace thus far this week at Kapolei Golf Club.
“I was quite excited. I didn't think it was going in. I mean, I hit a good shot, it was rolling perfect, and, yeah,” said Yang.
For the ace, CME Group will donate $20,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as part of the CME Group Cares Challenge – Score 1 for St. Jude, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The 2021 season now has three aces for a total of $60,000 donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “That's amazing,” said Yang on the donation. “You know, happy to -- like I can do something about it, and it is amazing and hopefully I make another.”
