Even at the height of her illustrious career, Lorena Ochoa always took time to thank the many Spanish-speaking workers who make their living working at golf courses around the United States. Gaby Lopez has learned so much from the Mexican superstar and is proud to maintain that tradition.
Lopez carried the Mexican flag at the Olympics in July and always relishes the opportunity represent her country and celebrate its people. Earlier this week, she posted a video to Twitter, showing her meeting with Mountain Ridge staffers and applauding their round-the-clock efforts to provide one of the best hospitality experiences the Tour has ever seen.
THANK YOU @LPGAfounders GRACIAS to all the staff, volunteers & everyone for making this tournament just like a Major Championship ❤️ @LPGA pic.twitter.com/4RkvLCI3Ki

“I try to do it as much as I can. With timing sometimes it's difficult. I try to do it because I see they do such hard work and I don't think we thank them enough and they get the applause that they should,” said Lopez after her fourth-round 65. “I'm just really grateful that they're here since 4 a.m. until 8 p.m. and, yeah, it's really nice to just have familiar faces. Just feel the warmth.”
Lopez’s 65 was her best 18 holes in more than three months and it provides much-needed momentum heading into the final few weeks of the 2021 season.
“This golf course is just pretty nice even for a major championship, and I think that today I just hit more fairways than any other day,” said Lopez. “That for sure gave me a lot of chances to just hit the green, hit a good speed, and just be consistent out there.”
