The LPGA is committed long-term to change the face of golf, making the sport we love more diverse, accessible and inclusive. As part of our mission to make the game more welcoming to under-represented girls and women and to become a more racially diverse association, we are unveiling a new initiative to spotlight the stories of the diverse women and girls within the LPGA.
At the LPGA, we refer to the action plan for our diversity efforts as “C-Me.” C stands for Commitment and Me stands for each individual making a personal commitment to listen, learn and be better on this topic. The “C-Me” also has another meaning. It’s about women and girls seeing other individuals who look like them in golf.
This month the focus will be on the stories of our Black Tour players, teachers, amateurs and junior golfers as we celebrate Black History Month. But this commitment goes well beyond a single month or single aspect of diversity. We look forward to sharing the many amazing stories of our diverse members in the months and years to come.
