MAINEVILLE, Ohio | The 10th stop on the 2021 “Road to the LPGA” takes the Epson Tour to TPC River’s Bend in the Buckeye State for the third-annual Prasco Charity Championship from June 25-27.
“In 2018, we made history with the Prasco Charity Championship becoming the first LPGA Tour family event contested on a course owned and operated by the PGA TOUR,” said Mike Nichols, the Chief Business Officer of LPGA Qualifying Tours. “Since then, we have grown a tremendous relationship with Prasco, which continues to support this event and our members’ dreams of competing on the LPGA Tour. In just three years, the Arington Foundation is approaching $100,000 in charitable giving for the tournament which has benefited the Mercy Health Foundation and Back2Back Ministries. We are looking forward to returning to Greater Cincinnati for a third time to mark the middle of the 2021 season.”
Greeting the 144-player field is a total purse of $175,000 and a 54-hole stroke play format with a cut to the low 60 players and ties after 36 holes. The winner’s share for the event is $26,250.
“We are very proud to host the Epson Tour members coming through southwest Ohio,” said Geoff Gilliand, the General Manager of TPC River’s Bend. “It’s always a special week seeing the Epson Tour members’ drive and commitment to achieve their dreams of competing on the LPGA Tour. It’s an honor to be part of their journey and we hope to only grow this tournament each year to highlight their talent to more golf fans in Ohio.”
Defending champion Perrine Delacour (Paris, France) is not among the competitors. She finished No. 1 on the money list in 2019 to earn LPGA Tour membership in 2020. The victory was one of ten top-10 finishes for Delacour in 2019.
“I wish the best for the players. Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to go back. It’s a special place for me as the second place I won on the Epson Tour, which helped me secure my card for the LPGA. So, I wish the best to all the players and it’s a nice golf course so just enjoy it,” said Delacour. “My parents were with me that week and it was an emotional win for sure because they had left before Sunday. But I was still able to win.”
Action gets underway at 7:30 a.m. ET all three days with play starting off No. 1 and No. 10 tees in the first and second round. Meanwhile, all groups will head off No. 1 for the final round with a trophy presentation to follow on No. 18 green.
