After an exciting end to the 2022 Epson Tour season, Dorsey Addicks is ready to tee it up at Stage II of the LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying School in Venice, Florida. Battling an elbow injury and the ups and downs of golf, Addicks was pleased to finish the season strong with a T8 at the Epson Tour Championship.

“It was a bit of a weird season for me,” said Addicks. “I started out really well, played well in California and then struggled a good bit in the middle of the season. I went back to Stage I and did what I needed to do to make it out, then I had a really good finish to the season.”

Unfortunately, Addicks’s T8 finish at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. was just shy of the result she needed to reach her end-of-season goal. The Montana native wanted to get into the top 80 of the Ascensus Race for the Card, which would have required a third or better.

Addicks ultimately missed by two strokes but never wavered from her positive attitude. Despite finishing No. 93 in the Ascensus Race for the Card, Addicks was proud of herself and is excited for the future.

“It was super exciting, and it’s a fun way to finish the season,” said Addicks. “And it does build momentum. Not only for Q2 but for my excitement and preparation during the off-season for next year.”

In a normal season, Addicks would have been able to take the strong finish immediately into Stage II. However, Hurricane Ian changed the plans, delaying the event by a month. Although some of the momentum may have diminished, Addicks heads back to Florida on a positive note.

“Ideally we would have gone straight to Stage II with that momentum,” chuckled Addicks. “But I took a good week off and have been practicing and getting ready. I expect there to be a fraction of competitive rust that’s been lost, but I know that going in and expect to get it back pretty quickly. It’s nice to know that I have it in me to come back from a bad round and light it up the next day.”

Ascensus, the official sponsor of the Race for the Card, strives to help their clients get to wherever they want to be. With good competitive golf, practice and a positive mindset, Addicks is ready to “get there” to her Stage II goal – finishing among the top in Venice and qualify for Q-Series.

“That guarantees full status [on the Epson Tour] for next year,” said Addicks. “It also proves to myself that I can do it, because I have yet to qualify for Q-Series.”
