WONJU, GANGWON, KOREA | The third edition of the BMW Ladies Championship is headlined by the return of world No. 1 and defending champion Jin Young Ko after a seven-week hiatus due to a wrist injury. But the strength of this week’s field goes far beyond the No. 1 spot, with six other players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings top-10 set to join Ko at the Oak Valley Country Club. Notable additions include Rookie of the Year hopeful and world No. 2 Atthaya Thitikul, No. 3 Minjee Lee and No. 5 Lydia Ko.
The limited field of 78 players also includes eight sponsor invitations. Former world No. 1s Sung Hyun Park and So Yeon Ryu, alongside nine-time LPGA winner Na Yeon Choi – who announced her retirement in October – will join the field as invitees. The BMW Ladies Championship will be Choi’s final event on the tour.
Play will begin on Thursday.
