Ruoning Yin highlights the Moves of the Week after jumping up four spots to No. 6 in the Race for the CME Globe standings and taking the solo lead in the Aon Risk Reward Challenge after securing her fourth LPGA Tour victory at last week’s Buick LPGA Shanghai.

Yin is now 0.929 shots under par, overtaking Lilia Vu, who was not in the field last week in the People’s Republic of China but will tee it up this week at the BMW Ladies Championship. Vu and Jeeno Thitikul are tied for second (-0.885) with Haeran Ryu and Patty Tavatanakit rounding out the top five at 0.861 and 0.846 shots under par, respectively.

The winner of the season-long competition on the LPGA Tour will be the player who best navigates challenging holes throughout the season. That athlete will take home the Aon trophy and a $1 million prize to reward their strategic decision-making over the course of the year.

Yin has earned just over $1,914,945 this year and is one of 21 players who have earned at least $1 million in official money this season. She currently sits eighth on the Official Money List and is ninth in the Rolex Player of the Year award points standings, 180 points behind current leader Nelly Korda.

Seven players still have a mathematical chance to win the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year award, but Mao Saigo could extend her lead with a win this week at the BWM Ladies Championship.

The 23-year-old holds a commanding advantage in the Rookie of the Year race, leading Jin Hee Im by 122 points after tying for second at the Buick LPGA Shanghai. The Japan native has yet to step inside the winner’s circle this season but has been knocking on the door quite a bit, earning six additional top-10 results in 2024.

With six events remaining, there are quite a few scenarios in which Im, Gabriela Ruffels, Somi Lee and Nataliya Guseva could catch up to Saigo in the top spot.
