BELLEAIR, Fla. — Bailey Tardy made the 19th ace of the 2025 LPGA Tour season on Friday at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican.

The 29-year-old dunked her tee shot on the par-3 3rd hole at Pelican Golf Club from 163 yards with her 7-iron to record the second hole-in-one of her LPGA Tour career, and first since she aced the par-3 17th hole during the second round of the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship back in 2023.

“Honestly, I don't even know the yardage,” Tardy said. “I think it was around 160 yards, maybe 163 or something, in between a 7- and 8-iron. I didn't think an 8-iron would get there because it was into the wind. I hit a soft 7-iron, and it landed, and I just heard people yell. I couldn't really see it go in. It was awesome.”

The ace was part of a 4-under 66 that Tardy carded on Friday at Pelican Golf Club, a second-round effort that virtually erased the 4-over 74 the LPGA Tour winner posted on Thursday in Belleair, Fla.

Needing something special to make the cut in the penultimate event of the 2025 LPGA Tour season, Tardy made a quick birdie on the par-4 11th hole – her second hole of the second round – to get back to 3-over almost immediately on Friday afternoon. She then landed a one-two punch of birdies on 16 and 17 to climb to 1-over, but Tardy gave a shot back with a bogey on 18 to once again sit at 2-over.

Tardy picked up her fourth birdie of the round on the par-4 1st hole at Pelican Golf Club and followed that up with a hole-in-one on the third to move to 1-under for the tournament. A bogey on four dropped her to even par, and that’s where Tardy ultimately stayed, making her ninth cut of the 2025 LPGA Tour season and sharing 43rd heading into the weekend at The ANNIKA.

The Epson Tour alum entered this week at 121st in the Race to the CME Globe, 61 positions outside the top 60 cutoff that would solidify her place in the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship next week at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Fla. Tardy is also 21 positions outside of the top 100 of the point standings.

And while a last-minute move inside the top 60 is likely out of the realm of possibility at this juncture, Tardy could potentially climb inside the top 100 of the Race to the CME Globe if she makes a substantial move up the leaderboard in the third and final rounds of the 2025 ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican.

But no matter what eventually transpires over the next 36 holes at Pelican Golf Club, Tardy will still finish off this week in Florda feeling incredibly proud of the hole-in-one she made in round two of The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge, even more so because of the $20,000 donation that CME Group will be making on her behalf to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of their CME Group Cares Challenge – Score 1 for St. Jude campaign.

“(Making a hole-in-one) that two years ago, I'm super happy I get to do that again this year,” Tardy said, whose ace raised the 2025 donation total to $380,000. “St. Jude is an awesome organization, and I'm just happy I get to help sick kids.”
