FRISCO, Texas — Epson Tour graduate Brianna Do recorded the first hole-in-one of the 2025 LPGA Tour major season on Saturday at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

The 35-year-old dunked her tee shot on the par-3 4th hole at Fields Ranch East in the third round, holing it from 150 yards with her 7-iron on what was a blustery Moving Day in the Lone Star State. It’s the second ace of Do’s LPGA Tour career and her first since the 2019 ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer, where she made a hole-in-one on the par-3 11th hole in the second round.

“I played yesterday morning, and I was actually watching the coverage on Peacock, and I believe they showed Corey Pavin play the Senior PGA here, and he made a hole-in-one exactly the same way. Hit it on the front and rolled it into the hole,” Do said. “I was honestly just trying to hit the greens out here today. It was so windy. I hit a nice little 7-iron. I knew it was good, but I didn't know it was that good. It was a nice little hole-in-one to even out my rocky start.”

Along with her ace, Do made one double bogey, five bogeys and two birdies to finish with a 3-over 75, a pretty solid effort considering how difficult the conditions were on day three at Fields Ranch East. She is currently inside the top 20 at 5-over for the tournament in what is her eighth KPMG Women’s PGA Championship appearance, and Do is tracking to record her best finish ever in this major championship, having only ever made the cut once, doing so in 2022 at Congressional Country Club.

A top-20 result in a major would definitely open a few doors for Do as the 2025 LPGA Tour schedule begins to slow down, a year that has only seen her make two starts on the largest circuit in women’s golf. But the veteran isn’t thinking about anything except what’s right in front of her at the moment, which in this case is 18 more holes at what’s been a beastly Fields Ranch East and climbing the leaderboard on Sunday at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

“I actually haven't really thought about it,” Do said. “I'm out here just trying to take it one shot at a time. It's playing really tough with the wind, setup and everything. I've had a few good weeks playing golf in Mexico, Colorado, Women's Open, so feeding off that and trying to play my game and see what happens.”

Do’s ace is the first hole-in-one to be made in a major since Peiyun Chien aced the par-3 16th hole during the final round of the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship last July, and it’s the eighth hole-in-one that has been carded this season, with the last one being posted a couple of weeks ago by Sei Young Kim in the final round of the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

In honor of Do’s ace, CME Group will make a $20,000 donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of their CME Group Cares Challenge – Score 1 for St. Jude campaign. The Challenge is a year-long charitable giving program that sees CME Group donate money to the organization in support of childhood cancer treatment and research for every ace made during the LPGA Tour season.

Do’s hole out raises the 2025 donation total to $180,000, with a guaranteed minimum of $500,000 going to St. Jude at the end of the season, no matter how many holes-in-one are made.
