Clark and Korda had also played together in the 2024 pro-am at Pelican Golf Club, and the former Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 was delighted to once again see her fellow Nike athlete in Florida as well as Clark’s Indiana Fever teammates, Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull, who, alongside Briana Scurry and Carson Hocevar, were serving as guest caddies on Wednesday.

“I actually saw (Caitlin) last week for an outing, but she's great,” Korda said. “She's so fun to be around. It's so cool to see how many people she brings to a different sport, how many fans she has, what a difference and how much of a needle she moves really. It's really cool to see and just a lot of appreciation for her for coming out here and also supporting us.”

And while Korda was wildly impressed with the number of fans that turned out in support of the former University of Iowa Hawkeye, Clark was just as wowed by how talented both Korda and Nguyen were on the golf course, soaking in every moment she spent with the duo and trying to pick up a few tips and tricks along the way.

“People always ask me like do I get more nervous for this or basketball. It's this, and it's not even remotely close,” Clark said. “I don't worry about basketball too much, but there is nothing like standing on a tee box and there are a bunch of people watching you and this isn't what you're really good at. But obviously, playing with Nelly and playing with Lauren made it really easy. We took their tee ball most of the time and played from there.”

Several LPGA Tour athletes, including Korda, took the opportunity to snap pics with Clark before and after she teed off at Pelican Golf Club. LPGA Tour winners Alexa Pano and Lottie Woad stopped by while Clark was warming up on the range for a photo, and Frenchwoman Perrine Delacour was inside the ropes on No. 1 to watch Clark hit her first shot at 8:30 a.m.

Major champion Jennifer Kupcho also got in on the action, posing for a picture with Clark, Cunningham and Hull, captioning a post on her Instagram story with “Tres Leches fan girl moment”.
