A couple of familiar faces were in the crowd at the TGL match between Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club on Tuesday evening.

Two-time LPGA Tour winner Lauren Coughlin and European Solheim Cup stalwart Emily Pedersen both took in the action at the SoFi Center on January 21, posting pictures of TGL’s venue on their Instagram stories. The pair were joined by Coughlin’s husband John Pond and Pedersen’s significant other, Olly Brett, the latter of whom caddied for Rose Zhang during the 2024 LPGA Tour season.

TGL is a new screen golf league that pits teams of PGA Tour players against each other in head-to-head matches. Each match features nine holes of Triples, a three-man alternate shot format, and six holes of Singles, your more traditional style of match-play golf in which each member of each team face off for two holes a piece.

Coughlin’s Grant Thornton Invitational partner Cameron Young was participating in the third TGL match of the year on Tuesday night, competing alongside fellow New York Golf Club members Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick. The trio lost 4-0 to Atlanta Drive GC’s Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay and Billy Horschel in the closest match of TGL’s inaugural season.

Coughlin produced one of the best stories of the 2024 LPGA Tour season when she won two tournaments in a 21-day span at the CPKC Women’s Open and the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open. The victories helped the LPGA Tour veteran secure a spot on her first U.S. Solheim Cup Team, and Coughlin helped lead the American squad to its first victory since 2017 in her home state of Virginia at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club with an undefeated 3-0-1 record.

Pedersen first became an LPGA Tour member in 2017 and has earned 21 career top-25 finishes since joining the organization. She has been a member of four European Solheim Cup Teams, amassing a 7-9-1 career record, and is a five-time winner on the Ladies European Tour.
