The BMW Ladies Championship is being contested this week at Pine Beach Golf Links in the Republic of Korea. The field features some of the most notable names in women’s golf, including three past champions of this event, Hannah Green, Jin Young Ko and Minjee Lee, the last of whom has picked up a victory already in 2025 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Fields Ranch East in Frisco, Texas. Several of Korea’s top talents are also set to compete, with players like A Lim Kim, Hyo Joo Kim and Haeran Ryu teeing it up in their home country this week, all three of whom have won on the LPGA Tour this year at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass and the Black Desert Championship presented by Greater Zion, respectively.

Thursday, 10:01 a.m. – Hannah Green/Jin Young Ko/Minjee Lee

Three past winners of the BMW Ladies Championship comprise group 23 on Thursday at Pine Beach Golf Links. Hannah Green collected her sixth career LPGA Tour victory at this event in 2024, what was one of three wins she tallied last season, as the Australian also won the HSBC Women’s World Championship and successfully defended her title at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro. She beat Celine Boutier by one stroke at Seowon Valley Country Club with a four-day total of 19-under and will once again be working to defend a title for the second time in her LPGA Tour career this week. The 2025 season hasn’t been incredibly kind to Green, as she has made just 10 cuts in 16 starts ahead of the BMW Ladies Championship, but she still has three top-10 results on the board, all of which came early in the year at the Founders Cup presented by U.S. Virgin Islands (T4), the HSBC Women’s World Championship (T7) and the JM Eagle LA Championship (T9). Statistically, there isn’t much to write home about at this juncture in the year for the Aussie; however, she is gaining strokes in four major categories in 2025, most notably ranking 47th in strokes gained around the green (+0.13) and 50th in strokes gained putting (+0.28). This is Green’s sixth time competing in the BMW Ladies Championship, and along with her win last year, she has tallied one other top-10 result, tying for 10th in 2022 at Oak Valley Country Club.

Republic of Korea native Jin Young Ko is making her 19th start of the year this week in her home country, having won the BMW Ladies Championship in 2021 in a playoff at LPGA International Busan. In addition to that victory, Ko has one other top-10 performance in her four previous appearances in this tournament, a tie for ninth that she recorded in 2019 at that same venue. In the 18 events in which she has competed this year, Ko has made the cut in 13 and carded four top-10 results, all of which she earned before May at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions (T4), the Founders Cup presented by U.S. Virgin Islands (2), the JM Eagle LA Championship (T7) and The Chevron Championship (T6). According to KPMG Performance Insights data, the 30-year-old is in the top 25 of four strokes gained metrics this season, including strokes gained approach (5, +0.97), strokes gained tee to green (14, +1.18), strokes gained total (24, +1.18) and strokes gained around the green (25, +0.26). Ko is also tied for fourth in par-5 scoring (4.58) and tied for ninth in bogey-free rounds (7). The major champion hasn’t found herself in victory lane in two seasons, last picking up an LPGA Tour victory in 2023 at the Founders Cup, but Ko will continue trying to rectify that fact this week at home as she works to go low at Pine Beach Golf Links.

Minjee Lee won the 2023 edition of the BMW Ladies Championship, doing so in a one-hole playoff over Alison Lee at Seowon Valley Country Club. That victory saw the Australian earn her 10th career title, making Lee the third Aussie athlete to reach double-digit victories on the LPGA Tour alongside Karrie Webb (41) and Jan Stephenson (16). This is her sixth time teeing it up in this tournament, and Lee has tallied two other top-20 results in addition to her victory, a tie for 16th that came in 2019 and a tie for 12th that came in 2021. The BMW Ladies Championship is Lee’s 20th start of the 2025 season, and in her 19 events ahead of this week at Pine Beach Golf Links, she has only missed one cut and racked up seven top-10 finishes, one of which saw her win the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Fields Ranch East, what is her 11th career LPGA Tour title and third major championship victory. Lee has also finished runner-up twice this year, doing so to Rio Takeda at the Blue Bay LPGA and to Brooke Henderson at the CPKC Women’s Open. According to KPMG Performance Insights data, Lee has finished inside the top 25 in the last 11 tournaments she has played and has the most top-25 results of any other athlete this year with 16. She is currently inside the top five of several statistics in 2025, most notably ranking second in strokes gained total (+2.45), strokes gained putting (+1.13), scoring average (69.67) and sub-par rounds (51). She is also third in birdie-to-bogey ratio (2.05) and fourth in birdie percentage (23.83), birdie or better percentage (24.56 percent), birdie or better average per round (4.42) and birdies (296).

Thursday, 10:12 a.m. – Hyo Joo Kim/Haeran Ryu/Brooke Henderson

All three members of group 25 on Thursday at the BMW Ladies Championship count themselves among the 26 different winners the LPGA Tour has seen across 26 official events in 2025. Hyo Joo Kim beat former Rolex Rankings No. 1 Lilia Vu in a playoff at Whirlwind Golf Club to secure her seventh career LPGA Tour title at the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass and first since the 2023 Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America. Along with that win, Kim has carded five other top-10 results this season, three of which are T2 or better performances that came at The Chevron Championship (T2), ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open (2) and the LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei (2), what was her last start on the LPGA Tour. Kim has played in every edition of the BMW Ladies Championship since it became part of the LPGA schedule back in 2019 and has recorded two top-20 finishes in her five prior appearances in this event, a tie for third she posted in 2022 and a tie for 16th that Kim carded the next year in 2023. KPMG Performance Insights data tells us that Kim has one of the stronger short games on Tour, as the 30-year-old currently leads the LPGA in scrambling (67.1 percent), ranks second in strokes gained around the green (+0.57) and is sixth in sand save percentage (56.9 percent). Kim is also ranked inside the top 10 in strokes gained total (6, +1.69) and strokes gained tee to green (9, +1.24).

Haeran Ryu won the inaugural Black Desert Championship presented by Greater Zion in May, what’s one of three top 10s the Republic of Korea native has earned in her 19 total starts this year. She also has a tie for sixth at The Chevron Championship and a tie for seventh at The Standard Portland Classic on her 2025 resume. Ryu has teed it up in the last three editions of the BMW Ladies Championship and tallied three consecutive top-20 results, including a tie for seventh in 2021 as a non-member, a tie for 16th that came during her rookie year in 2023 and a tie for sixth that she posted in 2024 at Seowon Valley Country Club. Looking at KPMG Performance Insights data, Ryu has really capitalized on her strong ball-striking in 2025, gaining three or more strokes with her approach shots in a whopping 14 tournament rounds this year, five more than the next closest athlete. She leads the LPGA Tour in strokes gained approach (+1.22), ranks second in strokes gained tee to green (+1.91) and is fifth in strokes gained off the tee (+0.76). She is also first in ball-striking (3), second in greens in regulation (75.99 percent) and ninth and 10th, respectively, in greens hit from the fairway percentage (82.29 percent) and greens hit from the rough percentage (58.48 percent).

Brooke Henderson collected her 14th career title and first since the 2023 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in August in her home country of Canada at the CPKC Women’s Open. She went toe-to-toe with three-time major champion Minjee Lee in pursuit of that 14th victory and came out on top after a gritty back-and-forth battle that saw the Canadian win by just a single stroke at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club. This week’s BMW Ladies Championship marks the 28-year-old’s 21st tournament of the 2025 LPGA Tour season, and Henderson has posted five other top-15 results in addition to that win, the best of which is a tie for ninth that came at the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards and the most recent of which is a tie for 15th she carded at the FM Championship at TPC Boston. This is her fourth time competing in this event, and never has the Canadian managed to crack the top 20 in the Republic of Korea, notching a tournament-best T22 result in 2023 at Seowon Valley Country Club. The Canadian only ranks inside the top 25 of two strokes gained categories so far this year, according to KPMG Performance Insights data, currently sitting at 17th in strokes gained off the tee (+0.58) and at 25th in strokes gained around the green (+0.26). Henderson is also third on Tour in driving and fifth in ball striking (21).
