The LPGA Tour is back in Oregon this week for the 53rd playing of The Standard Portland Classic at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. Several of the Tour’s top names are competing, with two-time LPGA Tour winners Angel Yin and Rose Zhang set to tee it up alongside major champions Grace Kim, Brooke Henderson and Jin Young Ko, the latter two of whom are past winners of this historic tournament. A share of a $2 million purse is up for grabs, as are 500 Race to the CME Globe points, which have become even more valuable as status for the 2026 season and a berth in the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship are now on the line for many athletes in the field this week.

Thursday, 7:48 a.m.*/Friday, 12:48 p.m. – Brooke Henderson/Alexa Pano/Rose Zhang

Canadian Brooke Henderson is a two-time winner of The Standard Portland Classic, picking up her first LPGA Tour title at the 2015 edition of the event as a non-member and then successfully defending it at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in 2016. Those two victories are two of 13 total wins that Henderson has collected throughout her career, making her the winningest golfer from Canada in the history of the game, male or female. This is her ninth time teeing it up in this tournament, and along with her two victories, she has earned three other top-15 results in Oregon and never finished worse than T38 at The Standard Portland Classic. This is her 17th event of the 2025 LPGA Tour season, and so far this year, the 27-year-old has made 11 cuts in 16 starts and earned four top-15 finishes, the best of which is a tie for ninth that Henderson recorded at the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards in April. Looking at her year-long statistics, the two-time major champion is currently ranked inside the top 25 of several categories on Tour this year, two of which are strokes gained off the tee (17, +0.60) and strokes gained around the green (21, +0.31), according to KPMG Performance Insights data. She is also T2 in total driving, T11 in par-5 scoring average (4.61) and 12th in driving accuracy (77.29 percent).

Alexa Pano will continue searching for her first top 10 of the year this week at The Standard Portland Classic as she competes in her 19th event of the 2025 LPGA Tour season at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. In her 18 previous starts, the Epson Tour alum has made 12 cuts and finished in the top 30 three times, most recently doing so at the Dow Championship, where she tied for 18th alongside her playing partner Dani Holmqvist. This is the 20-year-old’s third time competing in Portland, and Pano has fared well in her previous two starts in this event, tying for 12th in her tournament debut in 2023 after posting a four-round total of 16-under and then tying for 14th in 2024 with the same 72-hole total. The LPGA Tour winner is ranked inside the top 25 of two major strokes gained categories this year, according to KPMG Performance Insights, currently sitting at 13th in strokes gained off the tee (+0.63) and 24th in strokes gained around the green (+0.30). Pano is 96th in the Race to the CME Globe at the moment, and with the end of the season quickly approaching, the young American will need to make the most of every opportunity she has left if she wants a shot at qualifying for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship and if she hopes to maintain full status for the 2026 season.

This week’s tournament at Columbia Edgewater Country Club marks Rose Zhang’s 10th start of the year, and the two-time LPGA Tour winner will be looking to find some form as the 2025 season starts to come to a close. Having dealt with lingering injury for much of the year, the 22-year-old has made just four cuts in her nine starts ahead of The Standard Portland Classic, earning one top-10 finish in her season debut at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions (T10). But Zhang will be working hard to turn her year around over the next few weeks before the LPGA Tour heads to Asia, a comeback she is hoping to start in Portland, Oregon. Despite the challenges that Zhang has faced in 2025, she is still ranked inside the top 20 in strokes gained approach, picking up 0.63 strokes on her competitors with her approach play, according to KPMG Performance Insights.

Thursday, 7:59 a.m.*/Friday, 12:59 p.m. – Lilia Vu/Rio Takeda/Jin Young Ko

Lilia Vu will continue searching for her first made cut since April this week at The Standard Portland Classic, having not played the weekend in her last six starts on the LPGA Tour. But even though she has only made four cuts in 11 tournaments in 2025, Vu still has one top 10 on her resume this season, a solo second that she recorded at the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass back in March after falling in a playoff to Hyo Joo Kim at Whirlwind Golf Club. This is the two-time major champion’s third appearance at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, and in her two prior starts at this venue, Vu tied for third in her tournament debut in 2022 and tied for 14th in 2023. Despite her recent struggles, the former Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 is still among the strongest putters in the women’s game, according to data provided by KPMG Performance Insights. She is currently eighth on the LPGA Tour this year in strokes gained putting (+0.97), ranks ninth in one-putts per round (7.10) and is 11th in putting from five to 10 feet, making putts of that length 64.5 percent of the time.

LPGA Tour rookie Rio Takeda is making her first-ever start in The Standard Portland Classic this week and will be looking to post another strong finish after tying for fourth in her last tournament – the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in Wales. The Japan native became a Rolex First-Time Winner this season in the People’s Republic of China, picking up her first career title as an LPGA Tour member at the Blue Bay LPGA in March, and along with that victory, Takeda has tallied six other top-10 results in 2025, the best of which is a tie for second that she recorded at the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally in early June. The 22-year-old’s long game has been a big reason for the success she has found in her inaugural year on Tour, as according to KPMG Performance Insights, Takeda is currently leading the LPGA in strokes gained tee to green per round this year, picking up 2.04 shots on the field in that metric. She additionally ranks second in proximity to the hole from 150 to 175 yards, hitting the ball to 28 feet 11 inches on average, over five feet closer than the Tour average of 34 feet 6 inches. Takeda is also first in sub-par rounds (47), first in rounds in the 60s (31), first in birdies (240), second in greens in regulation (76.12 percent), second in strokes gained approach (+1.28) and 12th in strokes gained total (+1.62). Takeda is currently third in the Race to the CME Globe and is sitting at 11th in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Jin Young Ko won The Standard Portland Classic in 2021 when the tournament was held at Oregon Golf Club after beating Jeongeun Lee5 and Su Oh by four strokes, a performance she will be trying to recreate at the 2025 edition of this event. Ko hasn’t found the LPGA Tour winner’s circle since the 2023 Founders Cup presented by U.S. Virgin Islands and remains in search of what’s proving to be an elusive 16th title for the 30-year-old Republic of Korea native. This is her third start in the Portland Classic, and in addition to her victory in 2021, Ko tied for 20th in this championship in 2019 at Columbia Edgewater Country Club with a four-day total of 10-under. This is the major winner’s 15th start of the 2025 LPGA Tour season, and in her 14 tournaments ahead of this week, Ko has made 10 cuts and collected four top-10 finishes, the best of which is the solo second she recorded at the Founders Cup in February and the most recent of which came at The Chevron Championship in April, where Ko tied for sixth. According to KPMG Performance Insights, Ko is one of just three athletes to rank inside the top 10 in strokes gained approach over the last three LPGA Tour seasons alongside Megan Khang and Ruoning Yin. She is currently eighth in that metric, picking up 0.82 strokes on her competitors with her approach shots, and additionally ranks inside the top 20 in strokes gained tee to green (13, +1.29) and strokes gained total (18, +1.43). Ko is also tied for fifth in bogey-free rounds (6) and 10th in scoring average (70.48) on the LPGA Tour in 2025.

Thursday, 12:59 p.m./Friday, 7:59 a.m.* – Grace Kim/Angel Yin/Linn Grant

Grace Kim became a first-time major champion last month at The Amundi Evian Championship after surviving a two-hole playoff with Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul at Evian Resort Golf Club, but she hasn’t fared too well in her two starts since her triumph in France, missing the cut at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open and tying for 67th at the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl. The 24-year-old Australian will be working to get things back on track this week at The Standard Portland Classic, where she will be making her third career start. The Epson Tour graduate has never finished worse than T26 in her two previous appearances in this championship, even tying for ninth last season after posting a four-round total of 17-under at this venue. This is her 15th tournament of the season, and in addition to earning her first career victory since the 2023 LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei, Kim has posted two other top-25 results in 2025, a solo ninth that she recorded at the Black Desert Championship presented by Greater Zion and a tie for 24th that came at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Looking at her season-long statistics, Kim is ranked 17th in strokes gained around the green (+0.35), according to KPMG Performance Insights data, and is additionally 10th on the Official Money List this year, with $1,424,474 in 2025 earnings.

Angel Yin is the favorite in the field at The Standard Portland Classic, which should come as no surprise considering 2025 has been one of the Californian’s strongest seasons to date on the LPGA Tour. She picked up her second career title in February at the Honda LPGA Thailand after finishing with a 72-hole total of 28-under and has racked up five other top-10 results along with that victory, the most notable of which are the three consecutive top 10s she recorded in majors at the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally at Erin Hills (T9), the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco (T6) and The Amundi Evian Championship (T5). Yin has teed it up in five previous additions of the Portland Classic and has never missed the cut in this tournament, earning a career-best T2 result last year at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. The Rolex Rankings No. 7 is the top-ranked player in the field this week in Portland, Oregon, and according to data provided by KPMG Performance Insights, she currently leads the LPGA Tour in strokes gained putting (+1.41), is third in putts made from 10 feet or further per round (2.18), is third putting from five to 15 feet (55.4 percent) and is tied for seventh in putts per green in regulation (1.75). Yin is also tied for second in par-5 scoring average (4.58), tied for third in par-3 scoring average (2.94), fourth in scoring average (70.07) and fifth in birdie to bogey ratio (1.82). She is currently sixth in the Race to the CME Globe and is eighth on the Official Money List ($1,674,815).

Linn Grant is making her 14th start of the 2025 season at The Standard Portland Classic, having made just six cuts in her previous 13 tournaments ahead of this week in Oregon. She has collected three top-10 results so far this year, coming in third at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, tying for fourth at the MEXICO Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba and then tying for ninth at the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally at Erin Hills. This is just her second time ever competing at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, and even though Grant is relatively unfamiliar with this venue, she does have some positive history on which to lean, having tied for seventh in her tournament debut at the Portland Classic back in 2023. Looking at KPMG Performance Insights data, Grant is currently ranked inside the top three of strokes gained off the tee for a third straight season, sitting at third in that metric, and is also ninth in total driving. The 26-year-old Swede additionally ranks 11th in ball striking (30), 19th in average driving distance (271.68 yards) and 21st in greens in regulation (72.08 percent). Grant is 44th in the season-long Race to the CME Globe, well inside the top-60 cutoff for qualification into the CME Group Tour Championship, but she will need to find some sustained consistency with not a lot of tournaments remaining in the regular season.
