With LPGA Tour status on the line at the Final Qualifying Stage of LPGA Q-Series this week, several Epson Tour athletes are making one final push for the season to join the 2025 graduating class on the biggest stage in women’s golf next year.

After 18 holes of competition, Leah John had the best showing of the Epson Tour athletes in the field in Lower Alabama and currently sits in solo first place at 8-under. The Canadian finished the Epson Tour season ranked 22nd in the Race for the Card, which secured her automatic entry into Final Qualifying and saw her entry fee covered by the Tour’s title sponsor, Seiko Epson Corporation.

John had a near-perfect scorecard on day one at Magnolia Grove – RTJ Golf Club, carding nine birdies and only one bogey on the par-4 15th hole of the Crossings Course.

Mohan Du, a native of the People’s Republic of China, signed for a bogey-free 66 and sits in solo third, just two shots behind John. Du also finished the Epson Tour season ranked in the top 35 of the Race for the Card standings, closing out her year at No. 32. A strong performance throughout the rest of the upcoming 72 holes would see the 23-year-old clinch her spot among the 2026 class of LPGA Tour rookies.
