PORTHCAWL, Wales — Several athletes have picked up valuable points in the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway this week, some of whom have earned them because of their position in the most recent release of the World Amateur Golf Ranking and some of whom have collected LEAP points for made cuts at the AIG Women’s Open, the fifth and final major of the 2025 LPGA Tour season.

Spaniard Paula Martin Sampedro falls into both categories as it concerns her LEAP point tally. When Lottie Woad was removed from the WAGR standings this week after qualifying for and accepting LPGA Tour membership following her T3 showing at The Amundi Evian Championship and turning pro, Martin Sampedro rose to No. 3 in the standings, securing what was her seventh LEAP point.

She then made the cut at the AIG Women’s Open after posting scores of 72 and 74 at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, a performance that earned the 19-year-old her eighth LEAP point.

The six points that the Spaniard had earned ahead of this week in Wales came from Martin Sampedro’s participation in the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup (1 point), her win at The Women’s Amateur back in June (2 points), her victory at the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship in July (2 points) and her previous ascension to the fourth and fifth positions in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (1 point).

Kiara Romero and Farah O’Keefe also earned LEAP points when Woad dropped out of the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Romero collected one point for reaching No. 1 in WAGR, having previously earned a point each for reaching the No. 2 or No. 3 position and for climbing to No. 4 or No. 5 in the standings.

She now has a total of seven points in the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway, with her other four points not previously mentioned earned via her 2023 U.S. Girls’ Junior victory (1 point), 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup participation (1 point), 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup participation (1 point) and made cut at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally at Erin Hills (1 point).

O’Keefe rose to fifth in WAGR upon Woad’s removal, securing her fourth LEAP point. The University of Texas Longhorn racked up her first three LEAP points because of her participation in the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup (1 point), her made cut at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally (1 point) and her participation in the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup (1 point).

Along with Martin Sampedro, Spain’s Carla Bernat Escuder and Malaysia’s Jeneath Wong also picked up a LEAP point with their made cuts at the AIG Women’s Open. Bernat Escuder now has six points, having earned three points previously for representing the International Team at the 2023, 2024 and 2025 Arnold Palmer Cups and securing two points after her victory at the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

Wong’s point tally has risen to two because of her performance through 36 holes at Royal Porthcawl. She posted her first-ever LEAP point early in the season after winning the 2025 Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship.

Following her professional debut at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, Scotland’s Hannah Darling has been removed from the LEAP standings. She had collected five LEAP points before electing to turn pro.
