DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., and CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 19, 2025) – With an individual victory at the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, Maria Jose Marin has earned two points towards the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP). She now has a total of five points in the official LEAP standings and remains 15 points away from the 20-point threshold required to be eligible for LPGA Tour Membership, per the LEAP criteria.

Jose Marin clinched her fourth collegiate victory after carding rounds of 70-72-65-69 to finish at a total of 12-under par. She defeated Florida State University’s Mirabel Ting by two shots and became the third player from the University of Arkansas to win the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship individual title, joining Maria Fassi (2019) and Stacy Lewis (2007).

Notably, her seven-under par 65 on Sunday marked the lowest round by a Razorback in the tournament’s history. It helped her team reach a combined eight-under par in the third round, also marking the Razorbacks’ lowest team score in a single round at the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship.

Jose Marin has three previous collegiate individual victories, the 2023 and 2024 Blessings Collegiate Invitationals and the 2025 Puerto Rico Classic.

This season, Jose Marin was named the 2025 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Player of the Year joining Maria Fassi (2018, 2019) and Stacy Lewis (2009) as the third Razorback to be named SEC Player of the Year. She made the All-SEC First Team for her second consecutive collegiate season.

She is also a finalist for the 2025 ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel and was on the spring and postseason watch lists for the award in both 2024 and 2025. Jose Marin is currently ranked No. 10 in the Women’s Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and will represent the International Team at the Arnold Palmer Cup in June.

Jose Marin has made one start on the LPGA Tour, the 2024 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G, where she finished tied for 17th.
