Ting named the 2025 PING WGCA Player of the Year

CORAL SPRINGS and DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (May 29, 2025) – As the 2025 Division I recipient of the PING Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Player of the Year Award, Mirabel Ting earns two points toward her standings in the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway. She now has a total of nine points in the official LEAP standings and remains 11 points away from the 20-point threshold required to be eligible for LPGA Tour Membership, per the LEAP criteria.

In what was a banner season at Florida State University, Ting picked up five individual victories including the 2024 Folds of Honor Collegiate, 2024 Schooner Fall Classic, 2025 Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club, 2025 Briars Creek Invitational and the 2025 Florida State Match Up. In addition to those wins, she received numerous awards for her standout season-long performance, including the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel, ACC Golfer of the Year and the Golden Nole for Women’s Golf from FSU Athletics.

Ting has almost doubled her points in the LEAP standings, picking up four points in the last couple of weeks after being named the recipient of both the 2025 ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel and the 2025 PING WGCA Player of the Year Award.

Recognized annually as the top honor in women’s collegiate golf, the PING WGCA Player of the Year Award is awarded to the best player in Division I, II, III and NAIA women’s golf. The award was first given in 1987, and the names of recipients are a who’s who of the best in the women's game. The time-tested criteria and efforts by the coaches committee to evaluate, analyze and determine the appropriate winner makes the recipient of this the true “national player of the year.”

Past Division I recipients include Ingrid Lindblad (2024), Rose Zhang (2022, 2023), Rachel Heck (2021), Natalie Srinivasan (2020), Maria Fassi (2019), Lilia Vu (2018), Leona Maguire (2015, 2017), Bronte Law (2016) and Celine Boutier (2014).

Ting now has nine points in the LEAP standings, accumulated since her 2023 season. Her current points breakdown is detailed as:

Top-40 finish at the 2024 Maybank Championship – 1 point
No. 2 in the Women’s Amateur Golf Rankings in 2025 – 2 points

2025 recipient of the PING WGCA Player of the Year Award – 2 points
